National Italian American Bar Association (NIABA) & Sons of Italy Foundation Scholarship

*** THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2024 TERM WILL OPEN IN DECEMBER 2023 ***

Eligibility: Individuals of Italian descent*  enrolled in a law school program at an accredited academic institution for the Fall 2024 term. Applicant must be a rising first, second or third year law student.

* U.S. citizens and Green Card holders. 

Deadline: March 7, 2024

Application & Requirements:

1. Processing Fee ($35)
2. Online Application
3. Official Transcripts: Submit one official transcript from each academic institution (undergraduate, graduate and law school) attended through Dec. 2023.
4. Test Scores: Submit copies of official results from all standardized tests (ACT, SAT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, etc.) taken during the past 5 years.
5. Resume: Submit a current resume outlining extracurricular activities, work experience, volunteer service and honors.
6. Letters of Recommendation:  Submit the names and email addresses of 2 references (teachers, professors or educational administrators) who can provide a letter of recommendation.
7. Essay: Submit an original essay of 500-750 words about a personal experience that demonstrated or generated pride in your Italian heritage.

NOTE: the application fee is required to cover the processing of each scholarship application. If you would like to apply for more scholarships, you will have to make additional payments.

Applications will be accepted online only. 

The winner of this scholarship will be required to become a member of NIABA. The first year is free.
