Capri is a little island in Italy`s Bay of Naples that offers a cove-studded coastline, lots of great shopping & amazing artistic inspiration. Make sure you don`t miss the Blue Grotto while you`re here - you have to see it to believe it!

Charles Dickens said it best: "There is no spot in the world with such delightful possibilities of repose as this little isle."

Ciao! My name is Ian Hatfield and I`m from Topsfield, Massachusetts. My maternal great-grandfather came to America from the Trentino region of Italy, so Italian spirit, cuisine, and traditions have been passed down within my family for generations. I work as a Legislative Aide for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts House of Representatives. I graduated from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration. I am a member and the Orator of the Victor Emanuel Lodge #1646 in Haverhill, MA, and a State Trustee and member of the Bylaw Committee of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts. I am proud to be a member of the Future of the Order (FOTO) Forum and look forward to all we can accomplish to grow the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America.

What does being Italian mean to you?
To me, being Italian is symbolized through family and faith. I joined the OSDIA because of friends who belonged to the Victor Emanuel Lodge in Haverhill. They were so welcoming and fun, and soon became my second family. Six years later, I am proud to be a member of the OSDIA at the Filial, Grand, and Supreme Lodge levels, all because of the connections and friendships I’ve found within this organization. When the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America was first created, it was meant to be a place where our ancestors from Italy could meet, network, reminisce, and support each other in their endeavors to build a new home here in America. We may be several generations removed from those who came to America from Italy, but the purpose and mission of the Order are still applicable today. We support each other with food, family, friends, and faith.

Mentioned by Dante in the 11th canto of Paradise as the “Hill chosen by Blessed Ubaldo”, Monte Ingino is the peak that dominates Gubbio. ⛰️

The Basilica dedicated to Saint Ubaldo, the patron saint of Gubbio, stands here majestically, in its Baroque style, 850 meters above sea level. ⛪

Visitors can climb its sides to reach the remains of the Rocche di Gubbio, an ancient defensive system of the city. Visitors walk under imposing metal structures, which are shaped like a comet star and are lit up every year from 7 December to make Monte Ingino the world’s largest Christmas tree. 🎄 #ChristmasYearRound
