L'Aquila Earthquake Relief Fund

The April 6 earthquake near L'Aquila, in the Abruzzo Region of Italy, has taken a major toll on Italy and its people. Hundreds are dead, with tens of thousands left homeless. And much like the earthquake that struck near Assisi in 1997, in addition to the human toll, this earthquake has impacted the infrastructure of the region and has demolished ancient buildings and artwork.

The Sons of Italy Foundation® (SIF), as it has done so many times before with your support, has created an Emergency Relief Fund to aid the victims of this devastating earthquake and help rebuild the region. The SIF will be working directly with the Embassy of Italy to direct funds to emergency relief and recovery as requested by the Italian Government.  It is not too late to contribute to the rebuilding efforts.

The response by Americans and the international community has been overwhelming. SIF Executive Director/CEO Philip Piccigallo has been called by numerous U.S. news agencies to discuss the emergency.

To support relief and rebuilding efforts, please make a donation to the SIF's L'Aquila Earthquake Relief Fund. Donations may be made online, by mail, or by calling the SIF National Office at 202.547.2900
