Free Books on Italian History & Culture Offered by Sons of Italy CSJ

Press Contact: Kylie Cafiero, (202) 547-2900 kcafiero@osia.org

WASHINGTON, D.C. - January 30, 2007 Free books on Italian and Italian American history and culture are available through the Sons of Italy Commission for Social Justice (CSJ), the anti-defamation arm of the Order Sons of Italy in America.

The Sons of Italy CSJ will send a set of five (5) books to clubs or individuals as a “thank you” gift for a $25.00 donation to the Commission for Social Justice. All the books are new; most are hard-covered and many are past Sons of Italy Book Club selections.

The collection will include both fiction and non-fiction selected by the CSJ since most of the books are one-of-a-kind. The books can be given to local schools and public libraries, as awards at club events or as personal gifts. The CSJ donation is tax-deductible. Shipping and handling are free. Supplies are limited and orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Make checks for $25.00 payable to The Commission for Social Justice, earmarked "Anti-defamation" and send to:

The Sons of Italy CSJ fights the stereotyping of Italian Americans by the U.S. entertainment, advertising, and media industries. It also promotes the achievements and contributions of Italian Americans to the U.S. through research and education programs.

All funds raised through the book donation initiative will support the CSJ’s positive image programs and anti-defamation campaigns. The CSJ is part of OSIA, the biggest and oldest national organization for men and women of Italian descent in the United States. See www.osia.org for more information.

Books on Italian heritage are free through the Sons of Italy CSJ
