WASHINGTON,
D.C. - January 23, 2006 The
Order Sons of Italy in America
(OSIA), the nation's oldest and
largest organization for men
and women of Italian heritage,
has chosen the winner of its
nation-wide Rediscover
Your Italian Heritage membership campaign
cruise drawing.
The names of the
first 200 National At-Large members
to join between December 5 and
January 20 were entered in a
drawing to win a European Riverboat
Cruise for two.
The winner is
Kraig Severino of
Brooklyn, New York. As part of
the OSIA online community for
two years, Kraig says, "I decided
I would make the next step in
connecting with my heritage by
becoming an OSIA National At-Large
member. I am pleased with resources
that OSIA has for me as a member."
OSIA
has a grassroots network of more
than 700 chapters coast to coast.
People of all ages who cannot
attend meetings or do not live
near a lodge can still join OSIA
as a National At-Large member.
National At-Large members receive
all OSIA member benefits, but
do not vote or hold office.
All
members enjoy a free subscription
to Italian America Magazine,
access to the OSIA "members only" web
site, and the discounts and services
in the OSIA Benefit Package.
OSIA is the largest and oldest national organization in the U.S. for men and women of Italian heritage in the United States. It has more than 600,000 members and supporters and a network of more than 700 chapters coast to coast. OSIA works at the community, national and international levels to promote the heritage and culture of an estimated 26 million Italian Americans, the nation’s fifth largest ethnic group, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
