1) Become a MEMBER: OSIA has two types of membership:

a. LODGE MEMBERSHIP: OSIA has more than 700 lodges or local chapters coast-to-coast. Most OSIA members belong to an OSIA lodge in their community. Lodges meet regularly for social and community-oriented activities. Dues vary according to the individual lodges.

To become a Lodge member: Look up an OSIA lodge near you.

As an OSIA Lodge member you can:

• Hold local, state and national leadership positions in OSIA
• Represent your lodge at local, state and national meetings of OSIA
• Vote on important issues within OSIA, the Sons of Italy Foundation and the Commission for Social Justice

b. AT-LARGE MEMBERSHIP: People who cannot attend lodge meetings or who are not near a local OSIA lodge can still be part of OSIA by becoming an At-Large member. Dues are $35.00 per year and entitle the member to all OSIA benefits. To renew your At-Large membership, please sign in to your account in the Members Only section.

To become an At-Large member:

• Or send a check in the amount of $35, payable to "OSIA Supreme Lodge" and earmarked "At-Large Membership" to:

Gift At-Large Membership: Anyone can purchase a gift membership for friends and family. Dues are $35.00 per year and entitle the recipients of Gift membership to all OSIA benefits.

To give the gift of OSIA membership:

• Sign-up online with your credit card.
• Or send a check in the amount of $35, payable to "OSIA Supreme Lodge" and earmarked "At-Large Membership" to:

Be sure to include the new member's contact information (name, address, telephone, etc.) but YOUR name and credit card information in your e-mail or letter. We will send you the credit card confirmation and the new member will receive a welcome letter mentioning your name as benefactor.

International Membership: People residing outside of the United States and Canada can now join the Sons of Italy as an International At-Large Member. Dues are $50.00 USD per year and entitle the member to all OSIA benefits.

To become an International At-Large member:

• Mail or fax membership form with $50 USD (check and credit cards are accepted) to:

2) Start a Lodge:

Starting a Sons of Italy lodge is easy. All you need is dedication and a little free time. Once you have a minimum of 25 people interested in becoming members and a place to hold your first meeting, you are on your way. (Tip: to attract even more potential members, put a notice in your local newspaper's Community Calendar section with the time and place of your meeting. It's free!)

Then contact the OSIA state chapter, called a "Grand Lodge," in your state (see list below). You will receive a lodge start-up kit with a video about the Sons of Italy, membership brochures, applications and other materials along with step-by-step instructions to help you get started at your first meeting. Schedule your meeting to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery of the kit.
