Press Contact: Kylie Cafiero, (202) 547-2900

WASHINGTON, September 17, 2003 Albert A. DeNapoli, Esq. of Walpole, MA is the new national president of the Commission for Social Justice® (CSJ), the anti-defamation arm of the Order Sons of Italy in America® (OSIA), the largest and longest-established national organization for men and women of Italian heritage in the United States.

DeNapoli was elected August 16th at the 48th biennial national convention of the Order Sons of Italy®® of America (OSIA) in St. Louis.

With over 600,000 members and supporters and a network of 700+ chapters coast to coast, OSIA is the leading service and advocacy organization for the nation's estimated 26 million people of Italian descent.

The CSJ fights the stereotyping of Italian Americans by the U.S. entertainment, advertising, and media industries. Through its research and public education programs, the CSJ also helps inform the public and the media about the achievements and contributions of Italian Americans.

DeNapoli, the former CSJ national vice president, also chaired the Massachusetts chapter of the CSJ (1999-2003). Among its activities, this chapter hosts an annual Law Day Breakfast.

As national president of the CSJ, DeNapoli plans to continue the successful development of the CSJ Positive Image Campaign created by his predecessors, further coordinate efforts and communications between the national office and the state CSJ chapters and aggressively attack prejudices against Italian Americans and other groups.

Active in his town, DeNapoli has been a Town Meeting representative for several years and is in his fifth year as chairman of the Town of Walpole Finance Committee on which he has served for the past seven years. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce; is still active in the Walpole Computer Foundation in which he was a Trustee and is a member of the Executive Committee; and is a member of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association.

As a member of the Boston firm of Tarlow, Breed, Hart, Murphy & Rodgers, P.C., DeNapoli concentrates his practice in all areas of civil litigation primarily focusing on complex business issues, family law and the restaurant industry.
