New Guidebooks to Assist Fund-raising Effort

New Guidebooks to Assist Fund-raising Efforts for National Charities

Contact: Diane Crespy, 202/547-2900

Two newly produced guidebooks are now available to assist members in fund-raising for OSIA's two national charities, the Cooley's Anemia Foundation and the Alzheimer's Association.

Through the efforts of National Alzheimer's Disease Committee Chairwoman Lucy Contrino Thomas, the National Office has printed a comprehensive guidebook for members interested in coordinating fund-raising projects for research on improving treatments and prevention of this disease. The guidebook includes a time line of steps to follow in coordinating a project and includes sample letters and other materials for making an event successful.

Similarly, through the efforts of National Cooley's Anemia Committee Chairman Antonio P. Baffo, the National Office can now offer a guidebook specifically for those members interested in sponsoring a "Walk For Life" campaign. The guidebook provides step-by-step instructions on coordinating these events, which raise money for research on improved treatments and eventually a cure for Cooley's anemia.

To receive copies of these guidebooks, contact Diane Crespy, at the National Office, at 202/547-2900
